How much time do you spend each day responding to email, checking Facebook, sending and reading Tweets, aimlessly surfing your favorite websites and buying things you don't need? How much time, in other words, do you spend doing stuff online that doesn't add much value in your life, or in anyone else's?Too much, I'm going to guess.

Call me Scrooge, but when I hear the phrase "strengths-based" organization, I find myself cringing.The idea that organizations ought to focus on developing the strengths of their employees rather than trying to help them fix their weaknesses was introduced and popularized by the consulting firm Gallup.

For the first time in many years, I didn't take a vacation during the winter. It was a costly mistake. By the time I left for vacation three weeks ago, I was feeling spent. That's not a complaint. One reason for my fatigue is that The Energy Project has grown so rapidly during the past year. Managing our growth has prompted a whole new set of challenges.
