So summer is fading and we're starting the fall grind. It's time to hunker back down, work longer hours, and push through until Christmas. Right?
Not quite. It is when demand is at its peak that we need to be the most thoughtful about regularly renewing our energy throughout the day. Think of yourself as a sprinter, not as a marathoner. Work as much as possible in bursts of no more than 60 to 90 minutes, and then take a break to renew and refuel.
As the work starts to pile up, help keep your priorities straight by deciding the night before your most important task for the following day, and schedule it for first thing in the morning when you have the fewest distractions.
