Daydream on Purpose

Schedule at least one hour a week to brainstorm or strategize around some issue at work. You can help access your right hemisphere by doodling, daydreaming, or going for a long walk—anything that lets your mind wander. That's when breakthroughs and spontaneous connections are most likely to occur.

I set the alarm 15 minutes early and use that time to wake up and think about the relationships I may have today, my gratefulness and ways to express that, and certain happiness/sadness I may feel upon awakening and how to address those feelings.

I find this very useful and have been practicing it since college though not so very often. I spend hours and hours trying to solve a problem a I get that much needed idea when I take that walk to the restroom and am talking to myself.
